Welcome to a new year!

As members of GFWC Legacy, we embark on a new year of service by celebrating our tenth anniversary as a club. While we look back at where we have been and what we have accomplished together over the past ten years, we also look forward to new opportunities to reach out to others in our community and beyond.

Our theme for this administration, 'to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy’, is borrowed from author Stephen Covey. In his book, First Things First, he writes, “There are certain things that are fundamental to human fulfillment. The essence of these needs is captured in the phrase 'to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy'. The need to live is our physical need for such things as food, clothing, shelter, economical well-being, health. The need to love is our social need to relate to other people, to belong, to love and to be loved. The need to learn is our mental need to develop and to grow. And the need to leave a legacy is our spiritual need to have a sense of meaning, purpose, personal congruence, and contribution”

Over the course of the next year we will have many opportunities for service. We will also enjoy monthly social events to strengthen our friendships and get to know one another better. I encourage you to invite your friends to become Legacy Ladies. What better gift can you give your friends than the opportunity to deepen the bonds of friendship through shared service?

Fasten your seatbelts, roll up your sleeves, and get ready to live, love, learn, and leave a legacy together. We are GFWC Clubwomen, and that’s what we do!
